he TopTrailsWA website was a great project with a chance to work with some rich content complied by the TopTrailWA program and Bibbulmun Track Foundation. Using their provided brand style guide, the design of the site is intended to appeal to a wide audience while being clean and simple to use. The navigation is broken down into 5 main sections, the main being the Top Trails area, where information, photos and details on over 50 trails from around Western Australia can be viewed. The Top Trails section allows the user to view the listing of trails by Type of Trails, the Region they’re in, an A to Z listing and by a navigable Google Map. There’s also a search function available.

Each Trail has extensive detail under a number of subjects such as access, times, facilities, difficulty levels, what to take and the closest visitor centres. This is complimented by having a great range of photos of each trail along with the capability to add captions and credits where required. To assist in helping users find out where the trail is located, each has their starting point pin-pointed on a small Google Map. KML files will also be available for download to be used in Google Earth for the avid trail blazer.

All the content on the website was inputted and uploaded by the client, a non-technical user, showing how simple the Expression Engine content management system is to maintain and edit.
